Christmas: My Favorite Holiday

Hello everyone. I hope all is well with you! I’m back today after a hectic week of writing, kid appointments, and oh yeah, my oldest was sick this week which kind of throws us all in a tizzy. But we all made it to Sunday.  Phew!

I’ve been working hard on my latest revision and I’m loving how it’s coming together. 🙂 Don’t you just love it when it all clicks? It’s an awesome feeling. That’s why this post is so late because I wanted to finish the scene I’ve been working on.

You know how it goes.

Today, I’d like to talk about my favorite holiday. That’s right Christmas is my favorite. It always has been and it always will be. I love getting together with family and friends. It’s such an awesome time of year for these occasions. We had a family get together last night with my mother’s side of the family and it was so great to see everyone. I haven’t seen most of my relatives since my cousin’s wedding and that was in July.

I know a lot of people dread the holidays because there are long standing differences of opinions about politics and social issues. These differences can create a division in your family. Don’t let them divide you so much that you can’t enjoy your time together.

None of us knows how long we’re going to be here so let’s enjoy as many moments as we can this holiday season. If your family argues about politics then don’t talk about politics this Christmas. I’m sure there are many other things of interest to talk about. For example, the last movie you saw, or your favorite sit-coms. There are literally millions of less volatile subjects to discuss.

I love all the traditions that Christmas brings with it. Shopping for gifts, decorating the tree, hanging stockings, and driving through neighborhoods and checking out all the Christmas lights. It’s such a joyous holiday.

This Christmas I’m full of gratitude for my family and my health. I feel like I’m one hundred percent back. My hair has grown in and I’m feeling strong. So this Christmas put all those differences aside and  enjoy your family while you can. Kids grow so fast and we all are growing older so squeeze as much joy out of this life as you can. You won’t regret it. I promise.

Thanks for stopping by and reading my post. I’d love to hear your thoughts about your favorite holiday. What are some of your family traditions that you love? Leave a comment, I’d love to hear from you!

  1. Oh, you’re so right about life is short. Two years ago, my brother spent his last Christmas with us and died in the summer of the next year. You never know. Cherish the holidays with your loved ones, and remove the barriers. Hugs and all the best this holiday season to you and yours, Lisa! Best wished on your new book too!

    1. Awww…thanks Sharon! Here’s wishing you Happy Holidays as well. Sorry about the loss of your brother, that’s hard. I’m sure you have many memories to sustain you and keep the holidays bright because if your brother is half as awesome as you are, I’m sure he made life grand. 🙂
