Synchronicity and Intuition

Hello everyone. I hope all is well with you. I’m back today after a week of work and writing. We had a warm day today, and I made my first attempt at running outside. I’m hoping my pinched nerve doesn’t come back. So far so good. I’m hanging up the treadmill, running on that soft surface isn’t good for my spine.

But enough about that, today I’d like to talk about synchronicity and intuition. First, what is synchronicity? It is:

The simultaneous occurrence of events which appear significantly related but have no discernible causal connection

I look for signs from the universe all the time because we can’t predict the future, and sometimes not knowing the outcome can be scary. Some of the signs I’ve seen are in my work life. The city or the lake where my story takes place appears in my daily life. It makes me pause and think about my story. I feel it’s the universe telling me I’m on the right path. Other times, my main character’s name will appear in odd places. I’m hoping this is a sign telling me to stick with my story. All we can do is wait and see. (Fingers crossed)

Another example is when I’m travelling to a friend’s art gallery. Her gallery is about an hour away, so I enjoy the drive because I can turn up the tunes and relax. Every single time I go, one of my favorite songs comes on the radio. Now, the first few times it happened, I just enjoyed the music, but since it has been consistently happening, I’m thinking this is a moment of synchronicity. So, what is the universe trying to tell me?

I’m not sure on that one, but I do know when I visit my friend and her gallery I leave in a great frame of mind. She’s an inspiration and I admire her greatly. Maybe it’s the universe telling me to stay connected with her. I’m not sure, but I do know it’s a sign of something.

Synchronicity and intuition go hand in hand. I trust my intuition. That gut feeling that tells me something is off. The rare times I’ve ignored my gut I’ve regretted it, and the times I followed it, even though I didn’t understand the why, I’ve learned it was the right decision.

Intuition is the the ability to understand something immediately, without the need for conscious reasoning. You just know something isn’t right usually without any evidence. I’ve learned the hard way to trust my gut.

How about you? Do you trust your gut, or do you make decisions on cold, hard facts? Do you see synchronicity in your every-day life? Leave a comment, I’d love to hear from you.

Do You Believe In Synchronicity?

Hello everyone. I hope all is well with you. I’m back today after a busy week at work and a busy week from writing. I’m at 38,871 total words on my latest MS. Even though I’m not participating in Nano this year, my plan is to finish this rough draft by the end of the month. It’s going to be tight with the holidays but I think I can do it.

Today I’d like to talk about Synchronicity. It’s an interesting concept that was coined by the psychologist Carl Jung. He coined it as a “meaningful coincidence.”

Synchronicity occurs when a coincidence shifts the direction of your life.

Do you believe in this? I do. I’ve had my own personal experiences with it. According to some mediums, there are always signs letting us know something big is about to happen. That’s what I find the most difficult. How do you know when an occurrence is a sign of something to come or it’s just an event?

According to experts, the way to determine if a sign is significant is to have an open and relaxed mind when you think about it. According to the Personal Tao:

“With a clear mind we will simply understand the sign, know the path forward and step into it. We won’t choose to follow a path out of worry, doubt or a desire for life to be a specific way.

Because synchronicity works with “what might be” or potential, we must hold it lightly. We are on a current path, yet we have not chosen the future path.

Learning to work with synchronicity is an art. We watch for the signs, take actions and test them over time.

There are infinite possibilities for how synchronicity will come to you. It may come in the form of a song over the radio that helps you shift frustration into courage and motion. A synchronicity may be a cool breeze that catches your attention and reminds you to smile.”

I have to confess I’m a believer in synchronicity. When I look back on my life and the decisions I made to get to the place I’m at, I see it in play.

For example, I was in a serious relationship before I was married to my current hubby. I met my hubby through this man I dated. We became friends, I even set him up on a couple of double dates. When our relationship ended, this man  I’d become friends with asked my ex if he could date me. Since it was an amicable breakup, my ex didn’t have a problem with it.

Now I wouldn’t have met my current hubby if I hadn’t dated the first guy. I know when we go through a break up, we feel that it’s a waste of time and all of those other emotions you go through, but a lot of times, it can be a stepping stone to something more suited for you.

There are other synchronistic events in my life, but I won’t list all of them and I’m sure I’ve missed some signs along the way. I want to become more adapt at seeing them for what they are.

How about you? Do you believe in Synchronicity? How do you determine whether an event is  a sign or just a plain old event? Do you have any synchronistic episodes you’d like to share? Leave a comment. I’d love to hear from you.

Pennies from Heaven: A Slice of Life Post

SOL

Hello everyone, I hope all is well with you. I’m back today with another Slice of Life Post. Today, I want to talk about the significance of finding coins, specifically pennies and dimes.

Recently, I went to the mall with my youngest. There was a game for the Xbox 360 he wanted to get and he couldn’t wait one more day to get it. Sigh. So we ventured out on one of the busiest weekends of the year.

I parked my car in the parking lot and stepped out. I happened to look down on the ground and there sitting right by my foot was a dime. I picked it up and put it in my pocket. I didn’t think much about it, just proceeded into the store.

After my son picked out his game, we stood in the long line waiting to check out. Ahead of me in the aisle was a bright shiny penny. I had seen it earlier, before I stepped in line, but I figured someone would pick it up. I was surprised to see it still on the floor. I picked it up and handed it to the cashier. I thought it was odd, all those people milling around and no one picked up that coin. I shrugged it off, after all, it was busy. The chances of finding loose change will increase dramatically when you have more people milling around.

We left the store and headed toward our car. As we travelled across the parking lot, something shiny caught my eye. When I stepped closer, I realized it was a coin, another dime. Now I believe in synchronistic events and I find it strange that I would find three coins in a busy mall out in plain site where anyone passing by could pick them up.

So when I returned home. I did an internet search and I found there is a spiritual connection to finding pennies and dimes.

Some people believe that finding these two types of coins in odd places or frequently is a message from someone who has passed to the other side.

If this is true, what does finding these coins mean? What message are they trying to convey?

Well, according to the above article, pennies signify the number one. Which carries the vibration of new beginnings, new ideas, achievement, success, and progress.

Dimes, on the other hand, signify that you should pay attention to your intuition and trust your instincts as you move forward in life.

Is this true? I don’t know, but I do know that I’ve had a rush of new ideas recently in regards to my writing. 🙂 So I’m going to be paying attention that’s for sure.

How about you? Has anything like this happened to you before? What did you make of it? Leave a comment, I’d love to hear from you!
