If you didn’t have an infinite capacity to rise, you
wouldn’t have made it this far along your path. If nothing else, believe in that.
Believe in your Inner Phoenix.
Hello everyone, I hope all is well with you. I’m back today after a busy week of work, parent-teacher conferences, and revising. Always revising! Auuugghh.
Anyway, the kids are doing well in school and work and the revising are going well. And I ended the week on a high note. I was invited to do an author visit on Friday afternoon and it was a blast.
I spoke to a group of sixth graders about “Following your Passion.” They were enthusiastic and asked some great questions. I then posed the question to this eager group and asked many of them what their passions were and here are some of the responses.

Reading and Writing
And the list goes on and on…
These young kids know what they’re passionate about all ready. That’s amazing, but then I knew what I was passionate about at a young age, too, I just didn’t have the confidence back then to pursue it. So think back to when you were younger before you had responsibilities or mortgage payments, what was your passion? What made you happy?
I’m convinced following your passion is the way to happiness. If we all did what made us truly happy we’d be too busy enjoying it to worry about what our neighbors were up to. We wouldn’t have any energy to devote to the comparison game. Maybe those sixth graders are on to something?
Thanks for stopping by and reading my post today. What’s your passion? What would you do if you didn’t have to worry about money? I say go for it. Start small and build upon it. Remember what C.S. Lewis said, “You’re never too old to set a new goal or dream a new dream.”
Leave a comment and share your passion with us! I’d love to hear from you!
Hello everyone. I hope all is well with you. I’m back today after a hectic week of work, kid appointments, and other important shenanigans. I’ve reached 63,647 words in my manuscript and I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. This is the rough draft and it is rough, but I’m almost there. 🙂

Anyway, enough about that. Today I’d like to talk about a phrase I heard over the holidays. It intrigued me when I heard it and I thought I’d share it with all of you. “Live your best Life.”
That’s a worthy goal, don’t you think?
But what exactly does that mean?
The answer will be different for everyone. Because, you know, we’re all unique little snowflakes, right?
Photo on VisualHunt
Right. We’re all unique and beautiful. Don’t you forget it. (Wags finger at the non-believers).
Not one person’s brain is wired exactly like another’s so living your best life will be different from one person to the next. How’s that for stating the obvious?
Sorry. I got off track there.
Anyway, I feel we should all strive to live our best lives. I know what you’re thinking, what is my best life? This is where it gets hard. Because our best lives will look different when we’re in twenties than when we’re in our thirties and forties, and well, when you’re in your fifties, it’s going to change again.
Living your best life is a fluid goal and it changes as we grow and evolve. We humans go through phases and sometimes those phases can be painful.
So what does living your best life mean?
It means getting in touch with your inner voice. You know, the voice in your head that’s telling you you’re making a mistake? Or the one that’s telling you to go for it when you hang back afraid.
It means getting in touch with that voice and actually listening to it.
It means choosing a path and sticking with that path because it resonates with you. You can always tell when you’ve taken the wrong path because you’ll be uncomfortable. It won’t feel right and deep inside you’ll know it. You’ll feel like you’re faking it. When you’re on the path you’re supposed to be on, you’ll feel like your true self and you’ll be happy. Life won’t stress you out as much. You’ll take setbacks and obstacles in stride.

So how do we get in touch with that wise inner voice?
Again, it’s going to be different for everyone. Some people use meditation and that’s a healthy way to do it. Meditation is a stress reliever, and it’s good for your body and your mind.

I usually go for a walk in the woods. Walking is a great exercise and striding through nature is a stress reliever as well. There’s actual scientific proof that hiking in the woods is beneficial for your health. For more info go to this link and check it out. The Benefits of Forest-Bathing
But I digress. Sorry. I love forest bathing. I’m a tree hugger. What can I say?
Anyway, back to my topic. I have a point. I promise. 🙂
When you’re in line with your inner voice and working toward the goal that resonates with you, you’re going to be less stressed and won’t play the comparison game with your friends and co-workers because you’ll be too busy living your authentic life.
That’s what’s wrong with the world today. Many people have lost touch with their inner voice, and because of that, they’re pursuing the wrong goals. They play the comparison game, and end up losing because they try to emulate someone else instead of forging their own path.
Don’t get me wrong, finding a mentor is a golden nugget in life, but only if that person helps you pursue a goal that resonates you.

So to live your best life, you need to get in touch with that inner voice and listen to it. Let it guide you to the place you need to go. You’ll get there when you’re supposed to and not one minute before. So enjoy the journey.
Thanks for stopping by and reading my post! How do you feel about Living your Best Life? Do you have any tips you’d like to offer readers? Leave a comment. I love hearing from you!
Hello everyone. I hope all is well with you. I’ve reached the 50,000 word mark on my latest manuscript. I reached it on the thirtieth of November so if I were competing in Nano, I would’ve reached my goal. I was hoping to be finished with the story by this time, but alas, it is not meant to be. It’s not done, but I’m a lot closer than I was. I’m guessing between twenty and thirty thousand more words will do the trick. Fingers crossed. 🙂

But enough about that. I’m back today to talk about something I feel is important for all of us of the female persuasion and that is supporting each other. My new motto for 2018 is going to be “Don’t Judge Me.” I think we’ll get much further ahead if we stop judging each other. Instead, we should embrace our differences and support each other.
I see this support in the writing community and it amazes me. I come from a male dominated field where things were extremely competitive. So when I did come across another woman, she tended to be territorial and back-stabby. I’m sure you all know this type. So when I started writing and found other supportive women, it was truly a gift and something I had to get used to.
Why haven’t we does this in the past? I believe it’s because we have grown up with the idea that there isn’t enough to go around. Enough money. Enough self-respect. Enough self-worth. Enough love. We don’t believe our needs will get met so we search outside ourselves to find someone who’ll meet our needs, when what we really need to do is search within ourselves, and figure out what makes us whole.
For me, it’s my writing. I could do this all day, every day, so in times of great stress that’s what I do to ease my angst. It’s different for everyone. Some people paint, some exercise, and some work. Whatever it is, find your passion. It will calm the inner storm and you’ll feel self-reliant.
Sorry, I digress. We were talking about women bonding together. Wait. I did have a reason for bringing the passion thing up. Here’s my point. We need to support each other in the pursuit of our passions. We need to bond together, not judge each other when we walk a different path, because we all have our own path and our own lessons to learn, wouldn’t you agree?

So let’s do that. Stop judging. Be more accepting of our differences. We are all unique snowflakes, and we all deserve to be appreciated and respected. Am I right, or am I right?
What are you passionate about? How do you feel about women being supportive of each other? Leave a comment. I’d love to hear from you!
Hello everyone. I hope all is well with you. I’m back today and I’m sharing with you some inspirational quotes that I use to keep me motivated. I thought it might be nice to share them with all of you in case you were having one of those days where it’s hard to get moving. So without further ado, here they are. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by. I hope these inspirational quotes have inspired you to get moving toward your goals. Do you have any quotes you’d like to share? I’d love to hear from you, leave a comment with your own inspiration!
Hello everyone. I hope all is well with you. I’m back today to talk about the power of words. 2017 has started off with a bang. First we’ve had the march on Washington, and now we have this new executive order where citizens from certain countries aren’t allowed to enter the US. Then we had a judge issue a nationwide stay on part of Trump’s executive order. It has been an eventful weekend that’s for sure.

These are interesting times to be living in to say the least. The events from this weekend illustrate the need for good communication. From my research, I’ve gathered that Trump’s executive order was confusing. Of course, I don’t know if it’s true or not, we can’t believe the media these days, but that’s another blog post for another day. 🙂
Right now the English language is deteriorating into text messages and a kind of digital short hand. For the most part, that’s okay, we text every day, but we don’t write executive orders every day. That doesn’t mean we don’t need to learn how to write professional documents and letters because we do.

Regardless of the political climate, we still need to communicate via the written word. We still need to create legal documents, contracts, write prescriptions, and medical information. If we don’t know how to write this type of information, confusion will be the result.
Now more than ever, we need to have the ability to communicate. People have taken to social media as a way to spout their beliefs. That’s okay, what’s not okay is the dissension it’s causing among friends and family members. The way we’re communicating is destroying friendships and splitting families up. We need to turn this trend around.

Part of communication is listening to the other side. Listening to their concerns and taking them into consideration. In a marriage, you have to negotiate. You have to listen to your partner and take into consideration what his or her needs and desires are. A very wise friend once told me, when you’re in a stalemate with your partner, you’ll have to accept that you won’t get your way and neither will he, but there’s a third alternative that you both can live with. I think that concept applies to our world today. We need to find an alternative we all can live with.
The only way to do that is by sharing our beliefs without attacking the other side. So when you choose to write something or to speak, choose your words wisely. Your words have the power to create dissension or encourage peace. I say let’s work toward peace. After all, we only have one earth and we all want to live here. 🙂

Hello everyone. I hope all is well with you. I watched this video this morning and thought I should share it with all of you. It’s titled Be that Person. Now I’ve never met this woman, but I do want to share her message because it’s spot on. I’ve posted the flick below.
I’m flabbergasted that someone would waste their time to write such a nasty comment. Don’t we have better things to do? I love the message in this video. It’s inspiration for all women of all ages, don’t you agree?
It just goes to show you everyone is fighting a battle we know nothing about. Be kind. Always.
That’s all I have for today. I just wanted to share that message as we begin the holiday season. Thanks for stopping by and reading my Post and thanks to all my wonderful followers. I love you all and appreciate your kind and encouraging words. 🙂
